MANAGEMENT PROFILE

Zondi Kumwenda (Chief Executive Officer)

Mr. Kumwenda, the current Chief Executive Officer, first joined Zimplow (now Mealie-Brand) in 1996 as an accountant, and rose through the ranks to become substantive Financial Director in 2000.  Prior to that he was Audit Manager with KPMG (Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe), having also trained with Ernst and Young in Bulawayo.

Mr Kumwenda left Zimplow to join United Refineries as Financial Director, the post he held until his appointment to head Mealie Brand division as Managing Director.  He was appointed Chief Executive in 2009

He is also a Director of three other Companies:

Mr Kumwenda is a Chartered Accountant and is married to Clara. The couple has 3 children.

Francis Rwakonda (Finance Director)

Mr. Rwakonda joined Zimplow in January 2010 as Financial Director.

Prior to joining Zimplow Mr. Rwakonda was a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche (Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe), having joined them in June 2002.

Powerful presentation skills distinguish him as world class speaker that he is a protégé of National Speakers Association of America, nationally recognized authority in accounting and leadership.

Mr. Rwakonda, now 32, is a Chartered Accountant and is married to Pamela. The couple has one child.

Design Mkonto (Commercial Director)

Mrs. Mkonto joined Zimplow in September 2000 as Financial Manager and was promoted to Financial Director in 2005.  In 2010 Mrs Mkonto moved to her new position as Commercial Director

Mrs Mkonto trained with KPMG and prior to that she worked as Management Accountant of Kango Products and Treger Plastics for 8 years.

She is a qualified Chartered Secretary and holds various financial qualifications, which include Part I of the Institute Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe.

Mrs Mkonto is married to Mike and the couple has three children.

Brendan Mitchell  (Managing Director of CT Bolts Division)

Brendan became part of the Zimplow family when CT Bolts merged with Zimplow Limited in 2006.  Brendan has worked for CT Bolts fro 30 years rising through the ranks from engineering to costing and eventually to Managing Director.

Brendan has directorship in a number of family owned property companies.  He is a keen golfer and cyclist.
